Hi all. We've taken a break from the regular reporting in the local newspapers. All should be back to normal when our Sunday walks recommence in September. Just a reminder that there is a fixtures meeting on this Thursday 19th September at 8pm in the Excel. Please contact any committee member if you would like to lead a walk as the Sunday schedule from Sept. - Dec 2010 has to be filled.

Hi sheila. Mary, Ann ,Alice and the others whose names escape me at this minute. It was great to meet you all on the Tochar on Sun 25th July, sorry i didnt get to say goodbye at the end. Hopefully I may meet you again sometime . Thanks for the great company.

hi, my mother alice is involved in raising money for the charity "To Russia with Love" & for many years has run a 5mile walk from our house near Shinrone in Co.Offaly. This is the 10th year & the final year she will be doing it. We understand that in this current economic climate it is very hard to ask people for sponsorship,but being the final year she really wants to end on a good note with a large crowd. So we are asking people to come & instead of looking for sponsorship just maybe give 5 euro on the day. I would love if you could help support us & join us on the day & help raise awareness for such a great cause & also help my mums great work end on a good note with a big crowd. Many thanks to all the members and guests accompanying me on “The Vee in Spring” walk Sunday 14th February.
The weather turned out to be dry and sunny giving us clear views of the Galtees and surrounding countryside.
Taking a welcome break overlooking Baylough we looked down and saw ice on the Lough a rare sight indeed.
Thanks Willie for taking on the sweeper position ensuring we had the same number of walkers when we finished.

My sincere thanks to all members of the Galtee Walking Club for their assistance with the Winter Walking Festival. Special thanks to Chairman Danny Bailey. The Festival was a great success, the weather was the best we could have asked for. So thanks to you all.

Congragulations on the success of the A walk on saturday winter walks festival.Very impressed with the manner in which it was organised
The guide on the day done well to maintain interest momentum & safety in addition the stepladder used for crossing the fence at the end showed good appreciation of risk assessment.The pathway laid by the club as part of a meithel weekend also deserves a special mention.In summary well organised & very professional
